Limited selection but really really fresh seafood. The shrimp could not be fresher. Next to the shrimp boat docks

Doesn't get any fresher or friendlier than this. The dock is 20 feet from the market. They sell different sized shrimp and excellent prices, and will pack your seafood on ice. Also, I called after they were already closed. I told them I was on my way & they waited for me to come. Score.

Lazaretto Creek Seafood may have fresh shrimp off the boat, but the staff is unfriendly and the place did not appear sanitary. The employee that helped us did not wear gloves while handling the shrimp. She also dropped a shrimp on the floor, then proceeded to wash it off then put it in our bag of shrimp. Once the shrimp was bagged, it was placed on top of the tilapia that was sitting out for customers. After we left I did not feel comfortable with our batch of shrimp; I went to Bowie's on 1st Street instead and had a much better experience. It's also inconvenient as they only accept cash or check; no credit cards are accepted.

As a tourist it was a little hard to find. I will give them credit for bring the only place open on a Tuesday in April to buy fresh caught shrimp on Tybee Island. The place smelled very fishy, and it didn't appear very clean. Also, the woman working behind the counter rambled on and on and made very little sense. If I were on the island longer I would try to find another market to buy my seafood.

This place is incredibly rude, and does not have a wide selection. I went here after a day at the beach with my family visiting from out of town. The staff all looked annoyed and were not very friendly. The lady there even kinda snapped at my mom at one point. Not cool. The oysters were decent (already shucked), but they didn't have any fresh whole fish there -- just filets. You may get away with treating your tourists who you'll never see again like crap, but you're on my blacklist for this local girl.

As you are crossing the bridge to come on the island, the entrance is in the right. When we got there, a man and woman sat under an umbrella near the door and greeted us. When we entered 2 nice ladies were behind the counter. The place was clean and had a nice variety of shrimp and fish. Head on shrimp was only $3.95 per pound. Cant get any fresher bc the shrimp boats are right outside. I had a great experience. I took an empty cooler, filled it with shrimp and they packed it with ice. Great place to go!
